The Automotive Technology Instructor is responsible for teaching automotive maintenance and repair theory and hands-on skills to students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education program. The instructor will prepare students for employment in the automotive field and for industry certification exams.

  • Develop and implement curriculum for automotive technology courses to instruct students on theoretical and practical aspects of automotive systems;

  • Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and diagnostic technology and supervise hands-on lab activities and ensure safety protocols are followed;

  • Stay current with automotive industry trends and technological advancements and collaborate with local automotive businesses for internship and job placement opportunities;

  • Possess a current NYS Inspectors license as required for conducting automobile inspections.

  • Possess a current automobile air conditioning license as required for servicing and repairing auto air conditioning systems. 

  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, labs, quizzes, exams, and practical skills exams;

  • Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles;

  • Prepare students for Precision Technical Assessment exams by reviewing materials and administering practice tests;

  • Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, certification exam results, and other data;

  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the field;

  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, advisory boards, and industry partners in the community;

  • Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates;

  • Other duties as assigned.

Location : Hudson Falls, NY (on-site, no remote option)

Work Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00A-2:45P

  • Plans and implements student-centered, evidenced-based instructional practices that build on student assets and are culturally responsive to promote the development of the whole child;

  • Provides specially designed instruction and interventions for students' academic, social, emotional and behavioral needs;

  • Collaborates with team members including related service providers and classroom staff to develop, implement and monitor IEP accommodations, modifications, supports and goals;

  • Plans classroom instruction through adapting methods, materials and technology to meet students' individual needs and abilities;

  • Utilizes classroom management strategies and positive behavior interventions and supports to promote student growth in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision-making ;

  • Evaluates and reports on students' progress at designated intervals according to school procedures;

  • Operates under school policies, procedures, and regulations;

  • Participates in the development of curriculum and programs, including school wide activities and program debriefs;

  • Participates in collaborative problem-solving and planning with colleagues;

Building Maintenance Helper

Number of Positions :1

Salary Range: $33,349-$42,832,annually, commensurate with experience relevant to the position 

Location: Hudson Falls, NY 

Work Hours: Monday - Friday; 3pm-11pm

An employee in this class does unskilled manual work in performing a variety of tasks connected with the operation, maintenance, and cleaning of buildings and related equipment.  Miscellaneous minor repair work may be performed, but it does not require the same degree of proficiency and ability as that called for in the semi-skilled position of Building Maintenance worker.  General directions are received in connection with each assignment and supervision is received while work is in progress and upon completion.   Does related work as required.

  • Assists in a variety of tasks in regard to the upkeep of buildings such as cleaning, washing windows and scrubbing floors;
  •  Takes part in painting of rooms and hallways;
  •  Performs minor carpentry work such as repairs to desks, tables and office furniture;
  •  Prepares surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding and washing and applying paint and varnish remover;
  •  Assists in the maintenance of grounds by mowing lawns, trimming shrubbery and taking care of flower beds;
  •  Replaces defective fuses and light bulbs;
  •  Cleans lavatories and polishes brass and metal work;
  •  Helps to clean and maintain tools, machinery, and other mechanical equipment;
  •  Assists in removing snow and ice from walks, parking lots and pathways.

The Industrial Performance and Machining Instructor is responsible for teaching CAD/CAM, Solid Works, Master CAM, CNC programming and operation, operation of conventional equipment, and G-Code Programming theory along with hands-on skills to students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education program. The instructor will prepare students for employment in the Industrial Performance and Machining field and for industry certification exams.

  • Develop and deliver theoretical curriculum and hands-on instruction in manual and CNC machining, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, ensuring students master precision measurement and blueprint reading;
  • Demonstrate proper use and proficiency of high tech equipment, programming, and precision machining of component parts for automobiles, performance vehicles, industrial machines, and more;
  • Establish and enforce a rigorous CTE safety program, instructing high school students on the proper use of eye protection, machine guards, and the safe operation of hazardous equipment in a shop environment;
  •  Design and implement a sequenced curriculum that aligns with NYSED standards, integrating Career and Financial Management (CFM) and core academic skills like technical math and English;
  • Prepare students to earn national and state industry certifications and lead them through the required NOCTI technical assessments;
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, labs, quizzes, exams, and practical skills exams;
  • Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles;
  • Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, certification exam results, and other data;

The Power Sports Technology Instructor is responsible for teaching methods of servicing power equipment and engines such as those found in lawn and garden equipment, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, and jet skis using theory along with hands-on skills to students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education program. The instructor will prepare students for employment in the Power Sports Technology field and for industry certification exams.

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive instruction on two-stroke and four-stroke cycle engine theory, cooling, lubrication, and electrical systems for vehicles like ATVs, motorcycles, and snowmobiles; 
  • Establish and enforce a rigorous CTE safety program, ensuring students master the safe use of hand tools, power equipment, and stationary machinery in a "live" shop environment;
  • Design and implement a sequenced curriculum that aligns with NYSED standards, integrating Career and Financial Management (CFM) and core academic skills like technical math and English;
  • Prepare students to earn national and state industry certifications and lead them through the required EETC technical assessments;
  • Evaluate and grade students' class work, labs, quizzes, exams, and practical skills exams;
  • Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles;
  • Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, certification exam results, and other data;
