The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Integrated English Language Arts (ELA) Instructor is responsible for coordinating, developing and delivering a curriculum that seamlessly blends ELA skills with technical content across various CTE programs. This role requires a unique ability to contextualize language arts within real-world, career-focused scenarios, enhancing students' literacy skills while preparing them for future careers.

Design and implement an integrated curriculum that aligns ELA standards with CTE content area;

Collaborate with CTE instructors to identify opportunities for incorporating reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills into technical coursework;

Develop lesson plans and instructional materials that engage students in both ELA and CTE concepts;

Assess student progress in ELA skills within the context of their chosen CTE program;

Track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet varying abilities and learning styles;

Prepare students for certification exams by reviewing materials and administering practice tests;

Maintain accurate administrative records for attendance, grades, certification exam results, and other data;

Stay current with both ELA teaching methodologies and industry trends in relevant CTE fields;

Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, parents, advisory boards, and industry partners in the community;

Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates;

Other duties as assigned.
