Work Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00-4:00 This is a technical position focused on adapting microcomputers to department and user needs. Working with various departments as needed, the incumbent works from problem definition to implementation and support for the system designed. The work includes the application of both hardware and software to meet the specific needs of the department. Work is performed under general supervision with wide leeway allowed for planning and carrying out the details of the work. Supervision over the work of others is not a function of this position. Does related work as required. - Collects information from the department requesting computer support to determine current operation and identifying the basic requirements;
- Defines and researches the problem in terms of conditions, logical relationships, system constraints, compatibility requirements, basic objectives, related manual processes, space, impact on resources, etc.;
- Designs the system for department use by specifying hardware, software, files, screens, interactive programs, batch programs, macros, etc.;
- Demonstrates and trains users in the operation and maintenance of computer hardware and software and computer networks, including Internet access;
- Researches, tests, evaluates and recommends data communication hardware and software;
- Consults with vendors, distributors, and users regarding the purchase of computer hardware, software and networks;
- Integrates new system into the current hardware/software systems and manual/paper systems in use;
- Develops appropriate tests to assure the system’s reliability;
- Assembles and installs microcomputer systems including connection of central processing unit with all peripheral equipment such as printers, displays, and external disk drives;

| Coordinator of Network and Technology Services | | Number of Positions : 1 Salary:$68,000-$72,000, Commensurate with experience Location: Itinerant Districts(Johnsburg, Minerva, Glens Falls) Work Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00A-4:00P This is a technical position responsible for overseeing local +area network systems and equipment. The incumbent coordinates Local Area Network (LAN) and/or Wide Area Network (WAN) installations and the subsequent on-going maintenance and support of such networks for school district facilities. The incumbent also provides on-site support services to school district personnel on a wide range of technology services. The work is performed under the general supervision of school district administrative personnel. The incumbent may exercise supervision. Does related work as required. - Monitors and maintains local area network performance, resources, security and data integrity to include the upgrade and installation of software as required;
- Ensures the integrity of daily local area network backups;
- Manages the file systems and shared local area network storage areas; i.e., routine e-mail database maintenance;
- Documents/monitors licensing information and application information;
- Plans, implements and supports network solutions between multiple platforms;
- Performs routine maintenance of computers and peripheral equipment, upgrades computer hardware and/or software as needed and coordinates off-site repairs;

The LMSW or LCSW will facilitate communication between home, school and community partners. The School Social Worker must have working knowledge of: the principals, practices and ethical standards of School Social Work; the relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations; current knowledge of the community resources and support systems available to assist students and their families; and the ability to deal effectively and appropriately with colleagues, students, parents and other educational professionals regarding student concerns and problems. -
