The Coordinator for Professional Learning provides leadership for professional learning, including the design and implementation of: curriculum, instruction, assessment; effective practices in career and technical education, multi-tiered systems of support; leadership development; and organizational systems.
- Works under the leadership of the Lead Coordinator for Professional Learning to collaborate as a member of the WSWHE BOCES School Support Services division to identify necessary professional learning activities for WSWHE BOCES CTE programs and the region based upon multiple measures of data (student achievement, district/school processes,demographic, perceptual).
- Meets with BOCES leadership team members as assigned to assess, plan, and establish priorities and outcomes to improve systems and structures for teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
- Provides direct curriculum, instruction, and assessment support as assigned.
- Designs, creates, and delivers professional learning content and activities for in-person, hybrid, and/or asynchronous sessions to provide flexible opportunities for all stakeholders.
- Collects feedback and data from professional learning activities, analyzes and organizes summary information.
- Facilitates professional learning activities and technical assistance in areas of expertise in curriculum, instruction, and assessment; multi-tiered systems of support for prevention and intervention of academic & social-emotional learning needs; leadership; and organizational systems for secondary academic and career & technical education.
- Ensures that all professional learning activities (workshops, instructional coaching, meeting facilitation, data analysis, curriculum review & development projects) are conducted in accordance with established professional learning standards and research-based practices aligned with adult learning models.
- Researches local, state, and national trends and best practices across all areas of assigned responsibilities and uses the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to provide high quality services that meet standards of excellence aligned with WSWHE BOCES core values, mission, and vision.

- Participates in the development of WSWHE BOCES department/divisional strategic plans and annual action items / tasks to provide responsive, relevant, and flexible options to support immediate and long-term professional learning needs for internal (WSWHE) and external (component district) stakeholders.
- Serves as a facilitator for academic & career & technical education curriculum design, development, implementation and/or assessment projects as assigned by the Lead Coordinator for Professional Learning and schedules all assigned meetings; develops & organizes resources for all phases of assigned project work; develops & delivers professional learning activities and follow-up support for WSWHE BOCES programs and/or component districts.
- Participates as a collaborative member of WSWHE BOCES Leadership Team (BLT), School Support Services Team (SSS), WSWHE Instructional Cabinet, and the regional Curriculum and Technical Education (CTE) Committees and prepares information and/or resources as requested / assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Coordinator for Professional Learning and/or the District Superintendent or their designee.
- Valid certification in at least 1 of the following: NYS School District Leader (SDL), School District Administrator (SDA), NYS School Building Leader (SBL), School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) or internship certificate for SDL or SBL.
- NYS Teacher Certification in K-12 curriculum subject area, special education, or career and technical education; Certification/Experience with secondary education, desired.
- Bachelors/Masters Degrees in related fields.
- Demonstrated classroom teaching or related field experience (minimum 3-5 years).
- Demonstrated success as school or district administrator, desired.
- Knowledge of NYS Learning Standards and NYSED initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience and motivation to continue to develop capabilities in professional learning design and delivery, instructional coaching and high leverage classroom practices, and use of data to improve student and adult outcomes in school systems.
