Salary: $50,678 - $71,564, commensurate with experience

Location: Hudson Falls & Salem , some travel required

Work Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00AM - 2:45 PM

WSWHE BOCES is seeking a teacher with certification in visual arts for middle and high school classes for students in BOCES Exceptional Learners programs. The teacher will be knowledgeable about modifying programs for students with disabilities in self-contained classrooms.

  • Plan and implement lessons based on the approved art curriculum and NYS Standards.
  • Help students develop art skills in various mediums in accordance with each student’s ability.
  • Incorporate adaptive and differentiated instructional materials for individuals and small groups of students.
  • Create a classroom environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding and appreciation of the arts.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior in accordance with BOCES policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and report the academic growth of students at regular intervals, and record attendance and other required data.
  • Participate in the professional community by communicating regularly with administration and staff, assisting with problem-solving around student issues, and maintaining appropriate training and professional development.

 

Job Qualifications
  • Candidates must hold, or be eligible for, New York State Teacher Certification in Visual Arts.
