Location 1: Southern Adirondack Education Center, Hudson Falls

Location 2: F. Donald Myers Education Center, Saratoga 

Work Hours: Monday-Friday; 8:00A-2:45P

The School Counselor delivers a comprehensive school counseling program in Career and Technical Education (CTE), aligned with the ASCA National Model framework, in the domains of academic, career and social/emotional development. They will collaborate with WSWHE BOCES stakeholders and component district partners to offer equitable and inclusive programming that promotes student achievement, attendance, positive behavior, and post-secondary planning for all students.

  • Implement a comprehensive school counseling program;

  • Counsel, communicate and collaborate with students, parents, staff  and  component districts;

  • Remove barriers and promote systemic change and opportunities for students in CTE;

  • Deliver direct and indirect individual, group and classroom counseling services for students enrolled in CTE programs;  

  • Utilize data collection and data-driven decision making to close the gaps and provide needs-based programming;

  • Serve as a liaison to component district school counselors;

  • Coordinate enrollment and the placement of students in CTE programs of study;

  • Provide and maintain accurate records, grades, progress reports, attendance data and other pertinent information to assist  and support students success in CTE programs of study;

  • Serve on the MTSS-I and Crisis Response Teams;

  • Provide individual, group and classroom career counseling and post-secondary planning for all students;

  • Assist in the planning of school-family-community partnership events such as Open House, Parent Night, and Completion Ceremony;

  • Any other duties delegated by the program administrators deemed necessary to perform the functions of the position.

  • School Counselor Permanent;

  • School Counselor Initial; or

  • School Counselor Professional
